Planning My College Magazine
The research I undertook to make my magazine cover and contents pages were firstly analysing a magazine cover which you can see in my very first post I used the Flickr account that I created which was a lot easier that doing a spider diagram type thing by hand and for my contents page I actually looked at a contents page from That Life! magazine and took tips from that to make my final design. I did a target audience questionaire which gave me alot of help when deciding which elements and subjects to use when making my magazine cover and contents page and it also helped me to create a style which would be visually pleasing to the audience. I drew out my magazine cover before I started to actually make it on Photoshop but after I had taken my photograph the image kept developing so it hardly looked like my intial idea but im very pleased with the way that it turned out. The contents page wasnt too hard when it came to designing it because I looked at the Thats Life! contents page and took some designs from that but made it my own using different elements and effects.

I really love your designs - they are stylish, eyecatching, creative and full of dynamism and energy (mind you I'm not the target audience!). You have obviously really taken to Photoshop and have excelled with your Preliminary Task final products. Very well done Katie.
Your written work is less well achieved and you will need to take care with it as we go through the course. Careful planning, drafting and checking of your written work as you do it, will ensure that your difficulties do not hold you back. Ask me about this area.
