I would choose Bauer as my magazines publisher because through research I have learnt that they are the largest privately owned publisher in Europe and have dealt with many music magazines over the years and also are the publishers of Kerrang! which is a really successful music magazine that is brought by thousands of teenagers interested in rock, heavy metal etc. Before going into business with a large company or deciding on self publishing you can look at media kits and rate cards to find out advertising income etc. The pros of going into business with a large company would be that they could create a large amount of income from advertising and would also have deals with companies such as WH Smiths and also high sales rates because they are well known, they are successful and they would be able to get a lot of advertising for the magazine. The cons of going with a large company would be that they need to approve certain things before they can be published, they can refuse to publish certain stories and pictures and they can also take a larger percentage of credit and magazine sales and they might make you pay a lot of attention to advertisers rather than the audience.
